Any Truth to the 2012 Predictions of Armageddon?

Many people believe in the predictions of Armageddon in 2012. A great deal of this belief is based on the Mayan calendar, since it will be terminating that year. There are numerous prophecies that have been made based on this.

The Mayan calender will ending. The baktun is a cycle of the Mayan calendar, and that day is the last one in the cycle. Why it is so important is because in Mayan culture this is a cycle that brings the ending to one thing and a start to a new one. It is merely a modern speculation of the ending of the word. As reflected in their artifacts and writings, according to the people that study them, the Mayans in no way made any state of the world ending at all. In truth, a great deal of this last part of their calendar was in no way completed, except to note that it was an significant change in the history of the Earth.

The fact of the matter is, in his own introductions to his predictions, he alleges the quatrains predict up to the year 3797, and even further, there is no mention of the world ending There is also no reference to the year 2012 anywhere in his writing.

There are an abundance of added prophecies too. Alien invasions and a planet hitting the earth are the most familiar ones. While it is impossible to say aliens do not exist because we have not ventured outside of our own galaxy, the probability of this being the ending of the world would be really unlikely.
