How To Make The First Impression
June 20th, 2010 at 8:38For me it’s always about first impressions. I trust my instincts. I love to prepare if it’s something that requires training. But I don’t like to prepare the psychology too much. I enjoy the psychology of the character but I work better from a first impression. Thus I take utmost care that even I stay up to the mark regarding the first impression. Your first impression is quite significant for your near future or prospects.
For instance if you are going for your job interview, you are preferably expected to be dressed formally. Many misunderstand dressing formally means getting into a pair of branded clothes. And thus many a times the combination goes wrong. The apparel for the occasion ideally should be a full sleeves shirt, a pair of cotton trousers.
The belt, preferably leather, should be sober and not fancy. A pair of polished shoes adds to your formal look. Care is to be taken that the tie, if at all you are wearing, doesn’t matches with wither your shirt or pant. In fact the Tie must compliment the shirt you are wearing.
The employers don’t need a pretty face with no aptitude. But if you take some basic care of your face, it adds up to you advantage. Depending upon your skin choose your moisturizers. The face which is well moisturized looks fresh. And even if you had been working on your presentation or portfolio till late hours last night, it doesn’t shows up much on your face.
If you don’t like using moisturizers try washing your face with ice cold water or just rub some ice gently all over your face. That gives your face a freshened up look, the tenderness on your skin depicts your proactive mentality. These are just basic cosmetic free basic tips. There are many products available in the market which you can use to brighten up your looks.
Accessories on other hand also play an important role in your style statement. A time piece says a lot about your attitude. Keeping your watch sleek and simple in design rather than a rugged one is always received in good sense by the interviewer.
Watch with lots of buttons or some kind of decorative works might just leave you to be perceived as a brat or a too sophisticated individual. Actually apart from a watch and a wedding ring, if you are married, no accessory is needed to build up a good style statement in front of the employer.
To conclude with, the article speaks about a normal or a generic trend and is not subjective to any of the person. After all it up to individual how to make for his own styling and display what he wants the other to perceive of him.
