The new villain is unlike the old one and makes great stunt and is shown more dangerous. The movie got released on may 7th of this year all over the United States and was much awaited with the success of the first one.
The film has got Robert Downey Jr. Playing Tony stark who discloses to the world that he is none other than iron man, the one man army to bring about peace. The U.S government seeks stark to handover the blueprints for the iron man armour to build an army for military although stark refuses it with his own charm. At the same time Ivan vanko is building up more powerful armour than the iron man to take revenge against stark.
One more new role which appears in this movie is that of Natalie Rushman which is done by the curvy Scarlett Johansson. Miss pepper Potts is given the post as the CEO of stark industries by stark and her earlier position as assistant is taken over by Natalie. Stark is slowly dying of palladium poisoning from his arc reactor and expects his death soon. But he deals with the issue with his everlasting charm and wit.
Thus he heads on to Monaco grand prix where whiplash gives his entry. At this point stark counteracts the attack with his portable iron man suit which fits him automatically which is done with mind blowing graphics. Thus Ivan is nearly defeated and stark comes to know that Ivan is his dad’s old partner who had collaborated to create the arc reactor. Due to unexpected circumstances he gets deported to Russia where he dies of poverty.
Stark’s health worsens by each day and he plans to celebrate his last birthday wildly and hence gets drunk in his iron man armour causing havoc. Lieutenant Rhodes thus comes into the picture and gets hold of the iron man 2 armour. He nearly destroys Stark’s house and gives the armour to the U.S military. After this the movie catches up speed and stark learns that Natalie was actually and undercover agent and his father was the founder of S.H.E.I.L.D.
Thus how he finds a cure for his poisoning and how he combats the whole army of automated robots from the rivals, destroying Ivan forms the later story. This second installment has got more of stunts and graphic than compared to the previous one. The villain is shown to be massive and more powerful than iron man who gives a thrill to wait how he would be defeated.
The has satisfied the expectations so some level although the critics feel that less importance was given to character of stark and the role of Natalie was wasted.
