Thursday, February 18th, 2010The CBS has got maximum recognition after starting the show CSI TV. This is an extremely exciting series which contains drama and the crime. CSI means Crime Screen Investigation which is also known as CSI: Las Vegas. The show started almost a decade ago on 6th of October 2000. The show is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, was written by Antony E Zuiker and the shooting was done mainly at California’s Universal Studios.
The series thrive on suspense and intrigue created by shocking murders and the miniscule clue the crime perpetrators leave behind. The episodes follow the criminologists in their search to unravel the mysteries based the evidence found at the crime scene and are known to be remarkably graphic in nature. Though criticized vehemently by law enforcers, the show has gained massive popularity with the masses, keeping it at the top of the ratings heap and ensuring a steady viewership.
The series became so popular in 2002 that it became the most viewed series in that year. This encouraged CBS to go for sequels CSI: Miami and CSI: NY. These series are so exciting that the viewers are at their place throughout the show of 90 minutes.
The members of the forensic team are the main characters in the series. At present the chiefs if the team are Ray Langston (actor is Laurence Fishburne) and Catherine Willows (played by Marg Helgenberger) who is the director of the night shift. They are level 2 and level 3 CSIs. It must have been noticed that there is a change in a lot of major characters throughout the ten sessions.
CSI has also seen the enactment of cameos by several well-known actors including Dakota Fanning, Kate Walsh, Stacey Dash, Kelly Rowan, Stephen Baldwin, Faye Dunaway, and Chad Michael Murrey to name a few. Kevin Federline also made a guest appearance in the seventh season episode titled “Fannysmackin’” in which he played a thug called ‘Pig.’ Singer Taylor Swift also enacted the role of Haley Jones in “Turn Turn Turn,” an episode in Season 9.
The number of episodes in each season ranged from 23 to 25. But season 8 was very short of only 17 episodes. An episode aired on 19th May 2005 was seen by large number of people, as many as 35 million. It was directed by Quentin Tarantino. The total number of episodes of CSI aired by CBS so far is 206.
